Measure CR community meeting Saturday; vote by mail news

The city will hold a community meeting to discuss the three-quarter cent sales tax measure that has been placed on the November 2019 ballot. The meeting will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 10 a.m. in the Padua Room of the Hughes Center, 1700 Danbury Rd.

If voters approve the local sales tax measure, it is expected to generate $2.5 million each year in dedicated, local funds to maintain city services and programs, the city said.

Vote by mail drop-off ballot box at Hughes Center

The city is participating in the vote by mail drop-off program for the upcoming special election Tuesday, November 5.

A ballot box will be available for the public to drop off vote by mail ballots at the Hughes Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., through 4:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5. Ballots can be dropped off Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vote by mail ballots were mailed out by the county beginning Monday, October 7. Permanent VBM voters will automatically be sent a ballot. Any other registered voter can submit a request to receive a vote by mail ballot. To request a VBM ballot, visit lavote.net.
