Pilgrim Place festival, a time-honored tradition

The 71st annual Pilgrim Place Festival is set for Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free festival offers two days of shopping, fun, children’s games and food. Guests will find vintage clothing, precious and costume jewelry, baked goods, plants, crafting, household items and much more.

The shopping is highlighted by unique one-of-a-kind items created by residents and collectors bargains that are donated by community members and prepared for sale by residents.

Attendees may purchase delicious food from a light snack or vegetarian meal to a complete Thanksgiving dinner. And there are plenty of goodies for the kids, including cotton candy, sno-cones and popcorn.

Attractions include riding the Festival “Mayflower” boat and enjoying a train ride through campus. Kids can learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle everyday items at the sustainability and “glue-in” booths.

Pilgrim Place, located at 625 Mayflower Rd., is a nonprofit retirement community in Claremont and home to more than 350 people who have dedicated their lives to improving the lives of others. All proceeds from the festival go to the Pilgrim Place Resident Health and Support Program to support residents with modest resources.
