Claremont gears up to light city tree at the Depot

The city of Claremont’s annual free, open to the public and charming Holiday Promenade and Tree Lighting event takes place throughout the Village from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 6.

The holiday season kickoff includes live entertainment, the tree lighting ceremony, and a visit from Santa Claus. Village business will be participating as holiday cheer stops and will be providing holiday treats.

Here’s the schedule:

Throughout the Village and in Laemmle Plaza there will be cheer stops, carolers and live music from 5 to 6 p.m.

On the main stage at the Depot, 200 W. First St., carolers will be doing their thing from 5 to 5:30 p.m., a live band will perform from 5:30 to 6 p.m., the tree lighting goes down at 6 p.m., and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. there will be more live music.

Over at city hall, Santa will be on hand to take gift requests and for photos from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be entertainment as well.

At the Packing House there will be live music, arts and craft vendors and entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m.

And Shelton Park will host music and entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Holiday Promenade and Tree Lighting Ceremony is co-sponsored by the city of Claremont, Claremont Village Marketing Group, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Claremont, with support from Claremont Lincoln University.
