Two arrested for burglarizing motorhome

Claremont arrested two people Sunday afternoon on suspicion of stealing items from a motorhome.

Around noon, a witness contacted police after seeing two people entering a backyard, taking items from a motorhome on West Point Drive near Mills and San Jose Avenues, and leaving in a gold Toyota Corolla, police said in a release. An officer was at the scene within a minute, and pulled the car over.

Inside the car, police say they found stolen property from the motorhome, which had been ransacked by the suspects. The driver was unlicensed and had methamphetamine in his front pocket, and the passenger had hypodermic needles and a warrant out of San Bernardino County.

The driver was later identified as 33-year-old Rigo Jimenez of Pomona and the passenger was identified as 24-year-old Edgar Olguin, Det. Matt Hamill of the Claremont Police Department said. They were arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The stolen property was returned to the owner.
