A car struck a pedestrian who was crossing Indian Hill Boulevard Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:52 a.m., the victim, who was described as a Claremont man of unknown age, was hit by a motorist while crossing near Indian Hill and First Street, Sgt. Brian Thompson of the Claremont Police Department said.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where his condition is unknown, Sgt. Thompson said. The driver of the car, a silver Honda Civic, remained at the scene.

Indian Hill Boulevard is closed from First Street to Green Street as police continue their investigation. Sgt. Thompson could not provide a timetable for when that portion of Indian Hill would reopen.

The COURIER will have more information as it becomes available.
