OLA live-streaming Ester Sunday services

Our Lady of the Assumption Parish will live-stream Easter Masses Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 12, at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m.(Spanish) and 3 p.m. (Vietnamese). Access is at www.olaclaremont.org.

In a normal year, OLA would anticipate attendance of over 4,000 worshippers in its church. The parish has responded to the COVID-19 crisis with live-streaming of Masses daily beginning March 14.Bishop David O’Connell presided at the live-streamed Mass for Palm Sunday.

In addition, OLA’s outreach ministries reached out by telephone to 842 older parishioners 70+years to inquire if they needed assistance. Deacon Jim Allgaier and a team of volunteers are fielding frequent requests to run errands for those advised to stay at home. The deacon is also assisting local agencies that provide food and other services to the poor, including Uncommon Good, Inland Valley Hope Partners and Volunteers of America homeless shelter.

Anyone in the local community who needs assistance may call the OLA parish office at (909) 626-3596. Those interested in making a donation of non-perishable food may bring it between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. daily to 435 Berkeley Ave., Claremont. “We are saddened by the circumstances that separate us from the people, and we look forward to the day we will be able to worship together once again,” says Fr. Charles Ramirez, pastor. “We will continue to stay in touch with those who are homebound.”
