Claremonter to celebrate 100th birthday with curbside party

The family of Arlene Warhurst, which includes her nine children, invites the community to a curbside celebration for her 100th birthday.

On Thursday, April 16 from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Ms. Warhurst will sit outside her home at 2373 Silvertree Rd. in Claremont waving to passersby.

Her children affectionately call her Queen Arlene, because in the 1950s she appeared on the Queen for a Day television show and won. Her family hopes the community will make their mother’s 100th birthday celebration one to remember.

Ms. Warhurst has lived in Claremont since 1956.
