Are there more vehicles on the road?

Flying over and around Claremont really gives one a sense on how much traffic is clogging our streets. As we know, it’s been very light over the past several weeks because of the stay-at-home order to combat the coronavirus. Are people getting restless? Is it time to relax some of the restrictions? Opinions vary widely, but based on over 200 responses in a recent Claremont COURIER poll, 41 percent responded that we ought to wait until July or later to relax restrictions. The remainder of the options such as “sooner the better,” “by mid-May” and “June 1” were all around 20 percent. The point is that there are is not a large consensus about how long to wait, although 60 percent of the respondents did want to wait until June 1 or later to keep restrictions in place. It is clear, however, that everyone is ready to move on from Covid-19. COURIER photo/Peter Weinberger
