Share thoughts, feelings on CUCC cross

The pastors of Claremont United Church of Christ erected a cross in front of the church’s sanctuary last week to give people a venue where they can air their frustrations regarding the killing of George Floyd in a “physically distanced” format.

The cross is covered with a wire mesh so notes can be attached to it without tape or pins.

On its website the church said that “The cross is a symbol of an innocent man’s death in the hands of powerful people who hid behind the law. Let us come before it and mourn the ongoing injustice in our society today.”

If you would like to see the cross or attach a note, the sanctuary is located at the corner of Harvard Avenue and Sixth Street in the Claremont Village.
