Monday night concerts go online
Another Claremont tradition that will have to be skipped this year is our much loved Monday evening concerts in the park. However, thanks to the city of Claremont, the Kiwanis Club and Claremont Lincoln University, we can still enjoy the music even if we can’t be together. “Due to state and county health orders, the City of Claremont is unable to host its traditional Monday Night Concert Series at Memorial Park this summer. Instead, the City and co-sponsors, the Kiwanis Club of Claremont and Claremont Lincoln University, are excited to announce a brand new series this summer!” read a statement from city officials. Beginning this Monday, July 20, the city will offer three online concerts featuring some familiar bands: Upstream, Amanda Castro Band and Kulayd. The 2020 Virtual Monday Night Concert Series is free and will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the city of Claremont Facebook page as well as the city’s website. The schedule includes the Reggae band Upstream on July 20; Jazz and swing by the Amanda Castro Band on July 27; and Motown by Kulayd on August 3. Additionally, many local business are offering Monday night concet take out specials, including Saca’s, The Whisper House, Wolfe’s Kitchen and Deli, Sanctuary Coffee, Gus’s BBQ, and Euro Café. For more information about the City of Claremont’s Virtual Monday Night Concert Series, log onto the City website at www.claremontca.org or call (909) 399-5490.
