The Commons set for review by architectural commission

On Wednesday, July 29, the Claremont Architectural Commission will host a public hearing to review plans for the construction of “The Commons,” a proposed real estate development at the northwest corner of Monte Vista Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

The project, if approved, would permit the construction of “27 detached single-family homes, 20 townhomes, 15 residential flats, 5,000 square feet of neighborhood-serving retail space below the residential flats, and over an acre of park/open space,” according to notice released by the commission.

At the meeting, which will be held over Zoom, the commission will review the design of the project and draft a more specific plan.

Any person interested in participating in the public hearing can submit written comments to Jennifer Davis, contract planner, at jdavis@romoplanninggroup.com prior to the hearing, as well as participate live.

Instructions for joining the meeting will be provided in the agenda, which will be posted on the city website (www.ci.claremont.ca.us) five days prior. For more information about the proposal, contact Ms. Davis.
