Claremont police are investigating a dramatic Sunday afternoon injury car crash that startled residents attending the farmer’s market.

Police received an 11:45 a.m. call regarding a man who had allegedly drove his car into five parked vehicles near Bonita and Yale avenues. The front wheel of the vehicle was left on Bonita Avenue as the driver, who police did not identify except to say he was not a Claremont resident, continued east on Bonita until finally stopping at College Avenue.

One of the passengers in the man’s car was injured and was treated at the scene by LA County Fire Department paramedics. The driver and a second passenger were uninjured.

Police say drugs or alcohol were not a factor and the only apparent property damage was to the five cars that were sideswiped.
“We’re still conducting an investigation as to whether it was a mechanical issue with the vehicle or something else,” CPD Lt. Jason Walters said.
