E-bike sharing coming to streets of Claremont

Sustainable Claremont will host a Zoom sustainability dialog, “GoSGV: A New Regional E-Bike Sharing Program Coming to Claremont,” from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 21.

GoSGV is a regional bike share program that offers an accessible and affordable transportation option to the San Gabriel Valley through shared-use electric assist bicycles. This program was created by the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) and is operated by Gotcha, a national private shared-mobility firm.

In July, GoSGV launched in South El Monte with an initial outlay of 30 bikes and five bike share hubs. The program will expand over the next year to 840 bikes stationed at bike share hubs throughout the region.

Samantha Matthews, of the SGVCOG and Gotcha staff will provide a presentation on the GoSGV program.

The Sustainability Dialog Series consists of regular presentations by professionals covering local sustainability topics, followed by conversations between community members and speakers. This program is sponsored by Sustainable Claremont, with support from the League of Women Voters and Pomona College.
