Attend an ‘Uneventful Evening” at the annual VNA fundraiser

VNA Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern California is currently working on its annual fundraiser event. Typically scheduled for the fourth Thursday each September, VNA has taken a different approach this year due to COVID-19.

The event typically includes dinner, entertainment and an auction was originally scheduled at a local hotel for September 24, but COVID-19 changed everything.

“We had to re-think the entire event and go in a totally different direction,” according to Sue Nuss, chairperson for the event. “Although we are keeping the original date, the event has been transformed into a non-event fundraiser, An Uneventful Evening. 

Beginning Thursday, September 24 at 5:30 p.m. guests may visit and follow the link to a YouTube video from Marsha Fox, president/CEO and Dr. Timothy Dauwalder, medical director.

Invitations and raffle tickets were mailed to approximately 1,200 local donors, businesses and organizations in an attempt to garner donations for VNA’s Charitable Care Fund.   

VNA Hospice So Cal is a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to providing quality services to patients and their caregivers. VNA Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern California has provided in-home hospice and private duty care to the community since 1952. 

The suggested donation of $100 to the VNA Charitable Care Fund is a tax-deductible donation and provides emergency funds to assist patients and their families experiencing financial crisis during their illness.  The fund provides relief with gift cards for groceries and other household essentials, assists with utility bills, caregiver relief through the “Take-the-Afternoon Off” program and much more. Charitable Care provides a quality of life for patients and families at a time it is needed most.

Raffle tickets may be purchased for $20 each or six tickets for $100. All raffle baskets have a value of $500 or more and two baskets are valued at more than $1,000.

Raffle prizes include Disney Adventure with five Disney Park-Hopper tickets along with additional Disney-themed items and a $200 gift card; a basket of Kate Spade handbags; Claremont shopping spree, and Total Wine & More wine tasting party for 20 people.
