Applicants sought for the Committee on Human Relations

Anyone interested in taking a more active role in the city’s decision-making process is encouraged to apply for appointment to a board or committee. Currently the city of Claremont is seeking applicants to join the Committee on Human Relations (COHR).

“The COHR advises the community and Human Services Commission on human relations and promotes an atmosphere of tolerance, respect, and acceptance within the community,” the city said in a news release.

Committee members facilitate learning experiences and conversations that help community members understand the need for justice, adopt attitudes of mutual acceptance, respond to conflict in society, and bring awareness to implicit bias, according to the city.

Residents interested in an appointment to the Committee on Human Relations are encouraged apply through the Human Services Department on or before November 20. Please submit applications via email to Tania Cerda, management analyst, at tcerda@ci.claremont.ca.us or contact her for assistance at (909) 399-5356.

Applications and information are available on the city’s website: www.ci.claremont.ca.us.
