The city of Claremont, in partnership with The Claremont Colleges has announced a new holiday experience. 

On Saturday, December 12 they will host the inaugural drive-through experience and food drive, “Candy Cane Lane,” at Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The safe, socially distanced drive-through event will include three stations: a food and hygiene item drive benefitting the Inland Valley Hope Partners; a Santa “sighting,” where families can say hello to Santa from a distance; and a letter drop off point for Santa.

Suggested non-perishable food or hygiene items to benefit the Inland Valley Hope Partners include peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, pasta, soup (can or package), canned meat or vegetables, cereal, beans, rice, baby food or formula, cranberry sauce, boxed stuffing, boxed potatoes or a grocery store gift card to purchase ham or turkey.

Suggested hygiene items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps (bar or liquid), shampoos and conditioners, feminine products, hair brushes, lotion, mouthwash or tissues.

The event is free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Masks are required and participants must remain in their vehicles at all times. Walk ups are not permitted.
