On Monday, Claremont Police apprehended three male juveniles suspected of armed robbery in the Claremont Village, according to a news release from Lieutenant Jason Walters.

On Sunday at approximately 1:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery near First Street and Indian Hill Boulevard. According to police, the two suspects and the victim agreed to meet at the location for sale of merchandise negotiated on Offer-Up. During the transaction, the suspects brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled to an awaiting vehicle driven by a third suspect. A description of the suspects and their vehicle was provided to the responding officers.

Through their investigation, police identified the suspect’s vehicle on Monday. Claremont Police detectives and Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force, group 25, detectives conducted surveillance at a residence in the 1400 block of East Holt Boulevard, in Pomona. At about 2:00 p.m., detectives observed two of the suspects enter the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated near the location. Evidence was located inside the vehicle connecting the occupants to the robbery. Both suspects, 17-year-old males from Pomona, were arrested for robbery without incident.

A search warrant was later executed at the suspect’s residence on East Holt Boulevard and additional evidence connected to the robbery was located inside including the victim’s property. A third suspect, a 15 year-old male from Pomona, was arrested in connection to the robbery during the execution of the search warrant.

All three juveniles were booked into the Claremont Police Department jail. One of the juveniles was released into the custody of his parent or guardian with a citation, the second juvenile was transported to the Central Juvenile Hall facility in Eastlake, where he is being held for court and the third juvenile was released pending further investigation.
