Rush up Mt. Baldy creates gridlock

Saturday’s traffic leading north up Mt. Baldy Road was so severe, a single lane of vehicles stretched from the ski lifts at 6400 feet, to the parking at the San Antonio Dam. That’s 11 miles of bumper to bumper traffic similar to the intersection at Shinn Rd shown in this photo. Also, in the afternoon CPD closed Padua Road heading north to anyone headed to the mountains. If you are serious about skiing or just playing in the snow, best advice is to get up the mountain as early as possible. The ski lifts open at 8 a.m.
