Pomona College also took home honors along with Biesek Design for the college’s overall campus-wide signage. The commission recognized the Claremont University Consortium’s work in the Honnold/Mudd Library renovation as well as Pitzer College, Carrier Johnson, PCL Construction and CUMMING for sustainable development in the building of the Pitzer College’s Phase II dormitories. Kurt Keilhacker, Wheeler and Wheeler Architects, RCS Construction and SU Bacon were also recognized for sustainable efforts with the Keilhacker residence, located at 1201 North College Avenue. The Claremont Optometry Group and A Plus Sign Shop round up this year’s list of honorees for their sign at 695 West Foothill Boulevard.
The winners will be formally recognized at the architectural commission meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second St.
