VNA celebrates 61st year, honors volunteers
The VNA Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern California celebrated its 61st anniversary on Tuesday by recognizing family caregivers and VNA staff who have gone above and beyond over the past year.
“It’s important that we celebrate our 61 year legacy by continuing to recognize staff who routinely go the extra mile as well as to acknowledge family members and friends who have dedicated their lives caring for the ones they love” said Joyce Frevert, chairman of VNA’s board of directors.
Among those honored at the afternoon luncheon at the Claremont Doubletree were Michelle Dubas, Alicia Vickers and Marjorie Rosier, who shared the organization’s “Extra Mile” award for exemplary service.
VNA’s CEO and President Marsha Fox also highlighted the agency’s successes over the past year. In February, the nonprofit held a grand opening for its hospice home, a “mini hospital” fitted within a home on Indian Hill Boulevard to allow hospice patients to receive end-of-life care with added comforts. The hospice home is expected to open this fall. Ms. Fox also highlighted VNA’s acquisition of Rim of the World Home Health in Lake Arrowhead.
