City seeks applicants to help create Wilderness Park master plan

The city of Claremont is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to work with staff and the community to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park. Proposals are due by 2 p.m. on Monday, September 16 at the Hughes Center, 1700 Danbury Rd.

The master plan would update the current management plan for the wilderness park and incorporate into one plan the various documents and agreements that guide the operation and maintenance of almost 2000 acres of wilderness area owned by the city of Claremont. The goal is to create, through community dialogue, one unified vision for the management, maintenance and expansion of the park, balancing the desire for recreation while preserving the natural resource.

The complete Request for Proposal (RFP) can be found on the city website at www.ci.claremont.ca.us. For assistance with downloading the RFP, contact Bill Pallotto, community and human services manager, at bpallotto@ci.claremont.ca.us or 399-5332.
