Seniors get moving with new exercise program

Local seniors are getting moving at Claremont’s Joslyn and Blaisdell senior centers thanks to a new exercise program geared at building strength while addressing pain and fatigue.

Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, this low-impact exercise developed by physical therapists and aims to keep joints flexible, muscles strong, increase energy, help participants sleep better and improve overall quality of life. Classes are led by a certified instructor and may be taken either standing or sitting and are simple enough to be practiced at home.

Classes, $2 a session, take place at the Joslyn on Mondays at 11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays at 10 a.m., and at Blaisdell on Thursdays at 11 a.m. For more information, contact 399-55488.
