Webb robotics makes mark at regionals
Despite hardware failures at the Southern California First Tech Challenge regional championship last month at Monrovia High School, the Webb Schools robotics team, 359 Webb.exe, still won two of five matches and was selected as a runner-up for the competition’s innovate award for their machine’s design. The robot used two extending arms to scoop up matter and drop it on poles during a competition task.
Forty-two teams competed at the regional event and only three moved on to the world finals in Houston. The competition capped a successful robotics season for Webb which saw them field two other teams, 358 Gaulbots and 19888 Code Alfa.
