CEF grants $188,000 to Claremont schools

Claremont Educational Foundation announced last week it had more than doubled its year-end fundraising goal of $20,000. The nonprofit’s communications chair Karen McMillen said it had raised more than $42,000.

McMillen added CEF, which provides funding to Claremont Unified School District, raised approximately $188,000 in 2023.

The nonprofit donated $170,000 “as a block grant to CUSD to support art, music, and technology programs” in November. It also awarded nearly $10,000 to CUSD teachers who applied for student impact grants to support innovative classroom initiatives; $3,000 in scholarships to graduating Claremont and San Antonio high school seniors; and approximately $5,000 from its annual car raffle ticket sales to CUSD booster groups and schools.

CEF has raised more than $3.8 million since its 1991 inception.
