Improvements begin on College Avenue

On Monday, Claremont began a bicycle and pedestrian improvement project wherein the traffic signal at Kirkwood Avenue will be relocated to the intersection of College Avenue at Green Street and Green will also receive curb extensions, count down pedestrian leads, hands-free push buttons, and pedestrian lead timing once the signal is installed. The traffic signal at Kirkwood will remain in place until the Green Street signal is constructed and activated.

Additionally, Americans with Disabilities Act improvements will see Kirkwood get reconstructed ADA ramps with the installation of the curb extensions once the Greet Street signal is activated. The roadway will also be re-striped and resurfaced.

The project is anticipated to be completed in May. More info is at ci.claremont.ca.us.
