Ontario Airport receives $2.5 million grant
The Federal Aviation Administration recently awarded $2.5 million to Ontario International Airport to fund sustainability efforts.
Funding from the FAA’s Voluntary Airport Low Emissions Program will be used to replace 22 pre-conditioned air units. The units are connected to airport electrical power sources and function as external heating, cooling and dehumidifying devices which “keep jetways and planes comfortable” when idled at a gate, according to a news release.
The funding comes weeks after the airport received $4 million in FAA funding for its runway rehabilitation program.
