Roadway safety plan needs local feedback

The City of Claremont is asking for community feedback in order to develop a local roadway safety plan. The plan will identify traffic safety issues on streets, establish safety goals and determine priority locations for potential improvements.

Based on Caltrans guidance, the local plan will establish a systemic approach for addressing transportation safety issues, construct a list of local improvements and actions which can demonstrate a defined need and contribute to the statewide plan, create grant funding eligibility based on projects, and define ways to continuously evaluate and update the plan. Community members are asked to elicit feedback using the link at ci.claremont.ca.us. Click “More News” at the bottom right and look for the “Local Roadway Safety Plan Community Meeting and Survey” tab.

An informational meeting will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont. Additional details are at  ci.claremont.ca.us.
