Cordell Cullen Goode: longtime Claremont real estate agent

Cordell Cullen Goode died peacefully January 19, 2021 at her home in Ventura, California. She was 90 years old.

Cordell was born on April 9, 1930 in Casper, Wyoming, and raised by her father after her mother died when she was an infant.

She graduated from the University of Wyoming and received her master’s degree in speech pathology from the University of Denver, working in various school systems until she stopped to raise her three young sons with her husband Harold, whom she married in 1960. Later she reentered the workplace and embarked on a new career as a real estate agent and broker, with her longest run at Wheeler Steffen in Claremont. Many friendships came out of her love for helping clients buy and sell real estate.

Her favorite pastime was bridge. She was a Silver Life Master and beloved member of that community. She was also a talented quilt maker and gifted those close to her with her works of art.

She loved to travel. With two grandchildren in Hawaii and two in Australia, she took numerous trips to spend time with her “grands,” and to tour far-flung places. She was an avid baseball fan.

She had a knack for finding parking spots and making limoncello. She loved finance, history, museums, great food, theater and telling stories. She had a flair for entertaining, a quick wit, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold.

She is survived by sons David (Mary Lynn), John (Lisa), and Steve; and grandchildren Chris, Matt, Galen and Rosalee.

With all family now available to travel without significant COVID restrictions, a mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Mission San Buenaventura, 211 E. Main St., Ventura, CA 93001.
