Obituary: John William “Bloomie” Blumenfeld

U.S. Army veteran, ‘force to be reckoned with’

John William “Bloomie” Blumenfeld died November 17, 2021, in Bullhead City, Arizona, with his wife Patricia at his bedside. He was 64 years old.

John grew up in Claremont and attended Sycamore Elementary, El Roble Intermediate, and Claremont High schools. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in South Korea, where he trained military service canines.

He later worked in construction, held a commercial driver’s license and hazmat certificate, and drove and worked with hazardous materials.

He loved nature, art, all genres of music, and classical literature.

“He was brilliant, charismatic, artistic, as well as intense, complicated and had a unique sense of humor,” his family shared. “He was a force to be reckoned with. John had many obstacles in life to overcome. You did it John! We love and miss you.”

He is survived by his wife Patricia; mother Joan; uncle Rudy; sister Connie; his adult children, Michael, Christin, and Rebecca; nephew Aaron; niece Alexis; and several grandchildren.
