Proud son and father, Claremont High School grad

Michael Joseph Torrez, 47, of Boise, Idaho, died February 24.

He was born in Pomona on June 19, 1976 to the late Michael G. Torrez and Karen Carlon.

Michael was known for his unwavering love for his children and the Claremont community in which he grew up. He attended Claremont High School and visited his hometown often throughout his life.

He is survived by his mother, Karen Carlon; son, Michael C. Torrez; daughters, Erika and Amanda Torrez; brothers, Fenton and Matthew Torrez; and several other family members and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, at Oak Park Cemetery, 410 Sycamore Ave., Claremont, CA 91711.

“May he rest in peace, as he will forever be in our hearts,” his family shared.
