Michael Loader

Loving husband, father and grandfather

Michael L. Loader, a longtime Claremont resident, died on May 9, 2015. He was 60 years old.

Michael, or “Doc” as he liked to be called, was born on October 12, 1954 in southern California. He was raised in Orange County by his parents, Weldon and Evelyn Loader. He went to California State University, Fullerton for his undergraduate degree, where he met and married Lorene Loader.

In 1978, shortly after their son John was born, Mr. Loader moved his family to Claremont where he lived until his death. In 1986, he graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College, opening his Claremont practice in 1988, where he practiced for 14 years. The last years of his life, he spent as a healthcare consultant and volunteer for nonprofit organizations benefiting the disabled.

Throughout his adult life, Mr. Loader owned thoroughbred race horses, collected coins, played World of Warcraft with his wife, son and grandsons and was an avid reader, especially of historical and political literature.

Michael also loved singing in the church choir at Claremont First Baptist Church. His son, John, has fond memories of his dad singing all the way to his grandparents’ house when they would drive there many weekends. His family will remember him as a kind and loving man who was always eager to help others.

He leaves behind his wife Lorene Loader, son John Loader, mother Evelyn Loader, grandsons Christian and Aiden and sister Jane Walker.
