Dayle Marie Littlefield

Dayle Littlefield, a longtime Claremont resident, lost her battle with cancer on September 25, 2015.

She graduated from UC Riverside with a degree in music. She was an accomplished pianist who performed all over the world as well as locally at venues like the Big Bear Inn and various concerts in the park. Ms. Littlefield, who at one point taught music at local schools, loved classical music. Among Dayle’s memorabilia is a CD recording of herself playing Rachmaninoff’s complex, lyrical and melancholy Concerto No. 2 on a grand piano.

When she had time, Ms. Littlefield loved to visit the mountains, with Big Bear being one of her favorite spots. Whether in Big Bear or Mammoth, she loved to ski. She was a teacher, an artist, a lover of animals and a successful businesswoman.

“Dayle will greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She will always have a special place in our hearts,” friends shared.

She is survived by her son Derek of Claremont and her brother Eric Olson. Memorial services will be private.
