Obituary: Jim Graham Jr.
Music lover, son, brother
James Graham Jr. (Jim) died peacefully at his Claremont home on May 26.
Jim was born on August 28, 1952 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. He was a resident of Claremont since 1962, graduating from Claremont High School in 1970 where he played trumpet in the Wolfpack marching band.
A lifelong lover of music, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of many genres, which was reflected in his extensive vinyl and CD collection. He enjoyed living in Claremont and attending many civic events such as the Fourth of July celebrations, Village Venture and especially concerts in the park. He also frequented many concerts in nearby communities.
Cars were a special interest of his, and he could identify passing makes and models from the age of two. His amazing memory made him a sought-after team member in Trivial Pursuit games. He worked at North-West College in West Covina for 32 years, retiring in 2017.
Mr. Graham’s mother, Dorothy S. Graham, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his father, James Graham; siblings Rick (Phoebe) Graham, Tricia (Adam) Rowe, Carol (Vann) Parker; niece Megan Rowe and nephews Riley Rowe, Corey Parker and Bennett Parker.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to City of Hope Medical Center at cityofhope.org/giving/donate.
