Police blotter 10-25-19

Tuesday, October 15

Two men were arrested in connection with a burglary at Yocrepe that occurred on April 2, according to Lt. Jason Walters of the Claremont Police Department. Jorge Martinez, 19, from Bellflower, and Daylin Manner, 19, from Long Beach, were identified as suspects after an investigation and were found on the 400 block of Broadway in Long Beach on October 15. The men were booked on suspicion of burglary.

Wednesday, October 16

A home on the 500 block of south Indian Hill is without a television after an unknown burglar broke in sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The thief used an unknown object to open a locked front door, taking a 55-inch TV and a sound bar with a total loss of around $850, Lt. Walters said. There is no suspect information.

Thursday, October 17

A Whittier woman was arrested after police found her with drugs at the 76 station on Foothill and Towne. Around 5 a.m., police made contact with 27-year-old Cindy Estrada and noticed she was in possession of a meth pipe. After she was arrested and taken to jail, she told police she had a bag of meth in her waistband, Lt. Walters said.

Friday, October 18

Police are looking for a possible prowler seen on the 500 block of west Eighth Street. A resident called police around 5:30 p.m. after he saw a man walking around the west side of his property through his surveillance cameras, Lt. Walters said. When police arrived, they were unable to locate the suspect, but the resident’s sliding glass door was cracked. It is unknown if the crack was related to the prowler. The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, around five feet, nine inches tall and 180 pounds wearing a black and white checkered shirt.

Saturday, October 19

A 911 misdial led to a Colton woman getting arrested for public drunkenness at Piano Piano. Officers received the accidental call around 12:45 a.m. and decided to check the area just in case. They found the 46-year-old woman wobbly on her feet and having trouble standing up. She was arrested for public intoxication and later released without charges.

An Ontario woman was arrested for DUI after police found her passed out behind the wheel of her car at the Chevron station at 267 south Indian Hill Boulevard. Police found 39-year-old Amber Hernandez around 11 a.m., and determined she was under the influence of an unknown “depressant,” Lt. Walters said. She was arrested and taken to CPD jail.

A San Bernardino man was arrested around 4:40 p.m., after allegedly driving drunk with a loaded handgun and a six-year-old boy in the car. Police found 23-year-old Esteban Diaz driving recklessly near Mountain and La Verne Avenues, and pulled him over on San Antonio Avenue just south of La Verne in Pomona. Police determined Mr. Diaz was driving drunk and also had a loaded 9-millimeter handgun with a high capacity magazine, Lt. Walters said. Also, the boy was not in a car seat. Mr. Diaz was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment and taken to CPD jail.

Sunday, October 20

A witness called police around 1 p.m. after a woman was seen sitting in front of Hendrick’s Pharmacy and “appeared to be lost,” Lt. Walters said. Once police arrived, they found 31-year-old Angela Furr of Montclair. She was allegedly under the influence of an unknown substance and she was arrested.
