Police blotter 12-6-19
Tuesday, November 26
A Claremont woman told police that a box containing up to $40,000 in cash was missing from her home on the 1400 block of Tulane Avenue. The woman had over $100,000 in cash that she had hidden in different parts of her house, Det. Matt Hamill of the Claremont Police Department said. Her stepdaughter urged her to put the money into a bank account, and in the process of doing so noticed the box was nowhere to be found. Police are investigating.
Wednesday, November 27
Police are looking for a Claremont man after he slapped his girlfriend during an argument on the 600 block of west Bonita Avenue. Around 11 p.m., the 45-year-old man allegedly struck his 44-year-old girlfriend and hit her with a wine glass. The victim was not taken to a hospital. The man left before police arrived, and officers are currently looking for him.
Friday, November 29
A Claremont man was arrested after police found drugs on him during a domestic incident. Police were called to the 800 block of Trinity Lane after 43-year-old Jeremy Ewing barricaded himself in a room after getting to an argument with his girlfriend. Police were able to push the door open and contact him, and later found baggies of ecstasy and cocaine on him.

Mayte Zamora, 30 from Corona, was arrested after police found her driving a stolen 2016 Jeep Renegade. Ms. Zamora was pulled over by police near Foothill and Towne at approximately 3:15 p.m., Det. Hamill said. Police believe the Jeep was stolen in Riverside. Ms. Zamora was also allegedly in possession of several ID cards when she was pulled over. She was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, possession of a stolen car and identity theft.
Saturday, November 30
Another car was burglarized at the Evey Canyon turnout. Between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger window of the victim’s tan Honda Accord. Despite the broken window, nothing was taken from the car.

Another car was broken into on Saturday, this time near the intersection of Mills Avenue and Mount Baldy Road. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., an unknown thief broke into a silver Toyota Highlander, taking a bag containing the victim’s driver’s license, Chase credit card, Costco card and $150 in cash. Police are investigating.
Monday, December 2
Police are looking for two people who carjacked a man at the Claremont Lodge. A woman asked the victim to drive her to the motel around 1 a.m. Once there, an unknown man got into the back seat of the victim’s red Toyota Corolla, pointed a gun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The “friend” stayed behind, and both left in the victim’s car.
