Claremont High School

Baseball

The team’s February 25 South Hills Tournament home game against Arcadia was rescheduled to Tuesday due to the recent storms. Claremont fell, 4-2, Tuesday, bringing its record to 2-6.

The Pack is back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday when Diamond Bar comes to town. It then begins the Lions Tournament against South East High at Brookhurst Park at 3:15 p.m. Friday, March 10.

Softball

Claremont’s February 23 game at Don Lugo was canceled due to inclement weather. The team is 2-2.

The Pack traveled to Glendora after press time Thursday to begin Palomares League play. League continues Tuesday, March 7 as the team heads to Colony, then hosts Bonita Wednesday, March 8. First pitches are set for 3:30 p.m.

Boys golf

Monday’s Ayala Tournament was washed out. Claremont then hosted Rancho Cucamonga Tuesday, losing a close one, 207-209, at Marshal Canyon Golf Course. The Wolfpack is 0-1.

Claremont began Palomares League action after press time Thursday at Glendora. The boys will then participate in the Oak Hills Tournament on Monday, March 6 at Spring Valley Lake Country Club.

Boys volleyball

On February 22, Claremont hosted Crescent Valley and won, 3-1.

Results from the Foothill Tournament: On February 24, Claremont lost to Lutheran Orange, 2-0, but bounced back with a 2-1 win against Yorba Linda, then beat Murrieta Valley, 2-0. On February 25, the team lost to St. John Bosco, 2-0, then fell to host Foothill Santa Ana, 2-1.

Claremont hosted Downey Tuesday, winning 3-1. The team is 6-5.

The Pack will host Damien at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 7.

Boys tennis

Claremont’s home match against Diamond Bar on February 23 was rained out. The Pack hosted Peninsula on Tuesday and was dealt a 17-1 loss. The boys are now 1-1.

Claremont welcomed Los Osos after press time Thursday. The pack travels to Glendora for a 3:30 p.m. game Tuesday, March 7 to kick off Palomares League play.

Boys and girls swim and dive

The teams welcomed Covina February 22 to begin the season. The boys finished 114-35 and the girls 126-32. The February 25 Riverside Poly meet was canceled due to stormy weather. Claremont hosted Upland Wednesday. The boys won, 81-73, and the girls lost, 85-84. The boys are 2-0, the girls are 1-1.

On Wednesday, March 8, the teams are at Glendora for a 3:30 p.m. Palomares League meet.

Claremont traveled to Glendora after press time Thursday to begin Palomares League action. The teams will participate in the Fullerton Distance Carnival Saturday, March 4 at Fullerton Union High School.

On Wednesday, March 8, CHS travels to Alta Loma for a 3:30 p.m. meet.

The Webb Schools

Baseball

Webb’s February 25 doubleheader at Avalon was rescheduled to a later date due to rain, as was Tuesday’s home game against Calvary Chapel Downey. The team’s record remains 1-0-1.

The Gauls hosted Calvary Chapel Downey after press time Thursday then will travel to face the Grizzlies again at 3 p.m. Friday. On Wednesday, March 8 they travel to Pacifica Christian Orange County for a 3:30 p.m. game.

Boys golf

On Tuesday, the Gauls faced West Covina at the San Dimas Canyon Golf Course, winning 213-256. The teams squared off again after press time Thursday at South Hills Golf Course. The boys are 1-0.

Webb hosts Bonita at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course.

Boys volleyball

Results from the February 25 Webb Volleyball Tournament: the Gauls were dealt three 2-0 losses in a row against Ganesha, Rio Hondo Prep, and Don Lugo before shutting out South El Monte, 2-0, to close out tournament play.

West Covina dealt Webb another shutout Tuesday, 3-0. The team is now 1-4.

The Gauls host Garey at 3 p.m. Friday. League play begins Tuesday, March 7 when the boys host Southlands Christian at 4 p.m.

Boys tennis

The team’s February 24 home match versus Covina and Tuesday’s with Garey were canceled due to weather.

The Gauls were at South Hills after press time Thursday. The team battles at Arrowhead Christian Academy at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 7.

Coed badminton

Webb began its season Tuesday with a 16-5 win at Pasadena Poly, then hosted Fairmont Prep after press time Thursday. The team is 1-0.

Chino Hills welcomes Webb Wednesday, March 8 to kick off Hacienda League play.

Boys and girls swim and dive

The Gauls home meet against Chino on February 24 was canceled due to rain. Webb hosted a league cluster after press time Thursday. On Friday, March 10, the teams welcome Pasadena Poly at 3 p.m.

Webb welcomes Montclair, Northview and Arrowhead Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The teams then head to California High School Thursday, March 9 to compete against the hosts and Wilson. The first event is set for 3 p.m.
