Pitzer, Pomona, Scripps among top producers of Fulbright awards

The Chronicle of Higher Education recently recognized Pitzer, Pomona and Scripps colleges as among the nation’s top producers of Fulbright awardees for 2022-23 among baccalaureate institutions. Out of 42 schools, Pitzer ranked fourth, Pomona 16th, and Scripps 23rd.

For the 2022-23 period, Pitzer was offered 13 awards from its pool of 56 applicants. Nine Pomona College recipients were awarded Fulbright grants among 44 applicants, and Scripps saw seven awards among its 21 applicants. The competition promotes international understanding and offers awards for one year of research, university study, or English language teaching abroad to winners.

The program, established in 1946, is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program. It is funded by Congress through the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
