Claremont High School to present student-directed one act play festival
The Claremont High School Theatre department will present The Student-Directed One Act Play Festival Thursday, May 11 through Saturday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the CHS Fruechte Theater, 1601 N. Indian Hill Blvd.
The one-acts this year are Silent Snow, Secret Snow directed by Ashlee Robinson, Lockdown directed by Kamaria Jordan and Radium Girls directed by Sophie Willard Van Sistine. The student directors selected the plays, cast them and led the entire rehearsal process on their own. These plays fall into the category of Social Justice Theatre, as they deal with mental illness (Silent Snow), school safety (Lockdown) and a true story of radiation poisoning in factories (Radium Girls).
Tickets are available online at the CHS ASB webstore for $9. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $10, but presale is strongly recommended. For more information, visit chstheatre.cusd.claremont.edu or call the Claremont High School Theatre at (909) 624-9053 extension 30463.
