On Tuesday, June 6, Claremont’s Planning Commission approved Claremont Lincoln University’s (CLU) Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to occupy an existing three-story office building located at 150 W. First St. The university has been leasing space at the office building at 250 W. First St. since 2015, but the planning commission’s approval will allow CLU to make 150 W. First St. its permanent headquarters. CLU has proposed a full remodel of the existing three-story building that includes major improvements to the building’s exterior. The remodel is currently being reviewed by the city’s architectural commission.
