One-act plays put CHS students in the director’s chair

Claremont High School Theatre will present its student directed one act plays at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31 in the Don F. Fruechte Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 N. Indian Hill Blvd.

The one acts, presented by the school’s theater production class, feature two plays: Bang Bang, You’re Dead, directed by Grace Rhodes, and Saving the Greeks: One Tragedy at a Time, directed by Liam Geary.

Bang Bang, You’re Dead focuses on the topic of school shootings. It centers around the perspective of a school shooter and his experiences that led to the tragedy, as well as relating the views of those killed in the shooting.

The second play, Saving the Greeks: One Tragedy at a Time, takes a more comical approach as it follows the character “Dialysis” in his quest to build a city of tragic Greek heroes in order to save them from their unfortunate fates.

Presale tickets are $8 at chstheatre.cusd.claremont.edu. Admission is $10 at the door. More information is at chstheatre.cusd.claremont.edu or (909) 624-9053, extension 30463.
