CUSD to announce test score results for K-8th

The Claremont Unified School District will be providing information and analysis on the 2011 Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) results starting at Thursday’s board meeting.

Kindergarten through 8th grade will be the focus, as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Bonnie Bell will present the first of several reports scheduled of the 2011-12 school year on student achievement. A report on the STAR results for the 9th through 12th grades will be presented at the October 6th meeting.

STAR results are calculated from tests given in language arts, mathematics, science and history. The data is used when determining a school’s Academic Performance Index (API) and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).

Thursday’s meeting will also include reports on interdistrict transfer students, the district’s unaudited actuals and a restructuring of the district’s annual lease payments that began in 2001. Student board members Aurora Balagtas and Derek Bretzing will be administered the oath of office.
