CHS theater construction continues with lingering details

Work continues on Claremont High School’s new The Don F. Fruechte Theatre for the Performing Arts, with the Paul C. Miller construction company preparing to embark on $61,968.23 worth of finishing touches and upgrades.

According to the agenda for the Thursday, June 20 school board meeting, includes the addition of 8 smoke detectors; additional roofing; additional landscape and irrigation at the south side of the theater as requested by the district; added drywall taping and material to conceal existing electrical conduits at the back of the theater as well as drywall patching, plastering and painting in a few spots.

The following fixes are also on tap: remove and replace existing 2 x 4 light lenses as requested by the district; credit for decreased asphalt paving section at site fire lane; added catch basin at west lobby entrance due to existing grades; increased HVAC wiring sizes; provide Plexiglas panels in lobby poster display area; redesign of AFS system; and add an electrical circuit for makeup room lighting.
