Boys basketball
The Claremont boys basketball team has had a rough go of it of late, getting pummeled by Ayala, 73-28, at home January 13, then falling to Alta Loma, 52-28, on Tuesday.

The Wolfpack look to return to form Friday at Glendora, then on Wednesday, January 25, when it hosts Colony.

 

Girls basketball
The girls thrashed Ayala, 56-23, on January 13, then eked out a 37-32 win over San Dimas the next day. The Pack marched on Tuesday with a commanding 63-20 victory at Alta Loma.

The season continues at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Glendora. On Saturday, CHS will play Ontario Christian in the Glendora Shootout. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. On January 25, Claremont will welcome Colony at 5:30 p.m.

 

Boys soccer
On January 12 CHS snagged a 3-1 win at Ayala. On Tuesday, Claremont played a scoreless draw with Alta Loma.

The Pack hosted Glendora after press time Thursday, and will travel to Colony at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 24.

 

Girls soccer
After double overtime couldn’t separate them, the Pack drew with Ayala, 2-2, on January 12. Claremont squeaked out a 1-0 win at Alta Loma Tuesday.

The Wolfpack played Glendora after press time Thursday. On Tuesday, January 24, the team welcomes Colony at 5:15 p.m.

 

Girls water polo
Results from Monday’s match with Ayala and Wednesday’s with Alta Loma were not made available to the Courier.

Claremont traveled to La Jolla after press time Thursday and on Monday, January 23 will participate in the Palomares Carousel against a TBD opponent.

 

Boys and girls wrestling
The boys suffered a lopsided, 64-4 loss to Bonita on January 12. The girls’ results from the same match, as well as those from Saturday’s Montclair Tournament, were not made available to the Courier.

The teams returned to action after press time Thursday, hosting Ayala. The girls will participate in the Ayala Tournament Friday and Saturday.

Boys basketball
The Gauls beat Newport Christian, 57-50, Thursday, January 12, but fell to Rowland, 49-42, Tuesday.

Webb hosted Tarbut V’Torah after press time Thursday. On Friday the team travels to Rio Hondo Prep for a 7:30 p.m. contest. On Tuesday, January 24 the Gauls host Western Christian at 7:30 p.m.

 

Girls basketball
Webb lost to Newport Christian, 45-20, on January 12, and then to Rowland, 61-26, on Tuesday.

The Gauls hosted San Gabriel Academy after press time Thursday. On Friday, the team travels to California Lutheran for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. Then the Gauls host Western Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 24.

 

Boys soccer
Webb lost, 1-0, to Fairmont Prep on January 12 but bounced back with a 6-0 thumping of Avalon on January 14. On Tuesday, Western Christian held the Gauls to a 1-1 draw.

The team travels to Capistrano Valley Christian on Friday.

 

Girls soccer
On the heels of their recent CIF record-setting 28-game win streak, which was snapped by Claremont High on January 5, Webb overpowered Fairmont Prep, 5-2, on January 12, then bested San Dimas, 4-2, January 14. On Tuesday the Gauls settled for a 1-1 home draw against Western Christian.

The girls welcome Capistrano Valley Christian Friday. On Wednesday, January 25, the they host Cerritos. Both kickoffs are at 3:15 p.m.

 

Girls water polo
On January 12, Webb lost at Charter Oak, 20-13, then fell to West Covina, 12-8, Tuesday.

The team hosted San Dimas after press time Thursday. On Friday, the Gauls travel to Santa Ana Valley, and on Monday, January 23, to Edgewood. On Tuesday, January 24, the team welcomes Charter Oak. Each match is set at 3:30 p.m.

 

Boys wrestling
Results from the January 11 Montview League cluster: The boys won three matches, identical 60-12 victories against Gladstone and Workman, and 57-12 over Nogales.

Results from the noon Wednesday Montview League cluster at Gladstone were not made available to the Courier.
