Claremont Lewis Museum of Art’s “Complications in Color,” celebrating the 100th birthday of the late Karl Benjamin, opens with a free and open to the public reception at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 2 during the Claremont Art Walk. The show will be up through November 16 CLMA, 200 W. First St.

LA County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are investigating a Claremont Police Department officer involved shooting on Saturday that resulted in the death of 46-year-old Claremont resident Likune Sisay. Claremont police received a call about 6 a.m. Saturday regarding a man threatening suicide at a residence on Alamosa Drive. On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 6 p.m., Claremont Heritage will stage its second annual Treasury of Claremont Music Honors Concert at the historic Garner House in Memorial Park. The 2025 honorees are Jeff Masters, Frank Reckard, Wyman Reese, and Jeffrey Paul Ross, all notable local musicians who have had an impact and importance in Claremont and beyond.

Claremont Fast Pitch Softball recently wrapped up its All-Star season for its 8-, 10-, 12-, and 14-year old teams. City officials were notified Wednesday that Trumark Homes has sold the former La Puerta Intermediate School property to Taylor Morrison Homes for an unspecified amount. Claremont Unified School District sold the property to Trumark in February for $12.25 million. Taylor Morrison intends to use the same plans for its development, according to city officials.
